Day 88. Window seat, row 23. The plane climbed and the cloud came at us, white, and then we were in it, and I pressed my face to the glass like a child, and I looked as hard as I have ever looked at anything.
Here is what the clouds are hiding.
More clouds.
Behind the cloud there was another cloud, and behind that one there was a thinner one, and then there was the sky, very bright and very blue, so bright I had to look away. That's all. It's clouds all the way through. They weren't hiding anything. They were hiding the sky, a little, for a while, and then giving it back.
I've closed the file. I still look up every day. I think, if clouds want anything, that's what they wanted.
On Thursday I went and sat by W.A.'s lamp, like they asked. We looked at the sky for an hour. Nothing happened. W.A. said, "that's what it does." I said I know. I know now.
